CUB Scouts Centenary of Sri Lanka- 2016
Founder of World Scouting Sir Robert Baden Powell Started the Scout Movement 
in 1907 for  character development of children and dedicate them self to 
serve others. In  1916 our Founder Created the Wolf Cub Programme for 
young people aged between  seven and eleven years. In 2016 Scouts 
Celebrate the Centenary of Cub  Scouting. 
In 2016 we will commemorate one Hundred Years of the Cub Scout Section 
with local and 11th National Cubboree Celebrations. Cub scouting originally identified as Wolf Cubs  was started first in
 Sri Lanka by the Scout Troop at  Richmond College Galle. To that effect
  Richmond College Scout Troop, Sri Lanka Scout Association and the 
World Scout  Association Celebrate the Cub Scouting in 2016.

The Scouts are trained under five  categories according to their age 
group, 5-7 years as Singithi Scouts, 7-11  Years as Cub Scouts, 11-15 
Years as Junior Scouts, 15-18 Years as Senior Scouts  and 18-24 as Rover
 Scouts. Presently we have nearly 20,000 Girls and Boys as  Cub Scouts 
as members of the Sri Lanka Scout Association.
 The  philatelic Bureau of the Department of post issued a New 
Postage Stamp in  the denomination of Rs.10.00 to Commemorate the 
Centenary of the World and Sri  Lanka Cub Scouting on 13th May 2016.

By 2023  Scouting will be the world’s leading educational youth 
movement, enabling 100  million young People to be active citizens 
creating positive change in their  communities and in the world based on
 shared values. What better way to reach  out and touch lives in our 
efforts to create a better world for them to start  building characters,
 resilience, leadership and responsibility in young people  nurturing 
them from a young age through Cub Scouting.
