23වැනි ලෝක බාලදක්ෂ ජම්බෝරිය

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවෙන් බාලදක්ෂයින් 120ක් ජපාන් ජම්බෝරියට..

ජපානයේ පැවැත්වෙන ලෝක බාලදක්ෂ ජම්බෝරිය සදහා සහභාගී වන ශ්‍රී ලංකා බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායමට නිල වශයෙන් ජාතික ධජය පිළිගැන්වීම ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ප්‍රධාන බාලදක්ෂ ජනාධිපති ගරු මෛත්‍රීපාල සිරිසේන මැතිතුමා අතින් 23දින පෙරවරුවේ ජනාධිපති නිල නිවසේදී සිදු විය. ලෝක බාලදක්ෂ ජම්බෝරිය ජූලි මස 29 ව දින සිට අගෝස්තු 08 වනදා දක්වා ජපානයේ යමගුචි ප්‍රදේශයේදී පැවැත්වෙන අතර ශ්‍රී ලංකාව නියෝජනය කරමින් බාලදක්ෂයින් 120 දෙනෙකු සහභාගී වීමට නියමිතය. ලෝකයේ රටවල් 162 නියෝජනය කරමින් බාලදක්ෂ, බාලදක්ෂිකාවන් 30,000 ක් පමණ ඊට එක්වන අතර ප්‍රධාන බාලදක්ෂ කොමසාරිස් මහාචාර්ය නිමල් ද සිල්වා, ජාත්‍යන්තර කොමසාරිස් ජනප්‍රිත් ප්‍රනාන්දු ඇතුළු මූලස්තාන කොමසාරිස්වරුන් ඇතුළු බාලදක්ෂයින් පිරිසක් මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්වූහ. මෙහිදී බාලදක්ෂයින් ඇමතූ ජනාධිපතිතුමා ප්‍රකාශ කළේ ශ්‍රී ලාංකීය අනන්‍යතාවය ලෝකයට ගෙන යාමට මෙය ඉතා වැදගත් අවස්ථාවක් බවයි. අනතුරුව බාලදක්ෂයින් සමග සුහද කථා බහකටද එක්වූ ජනාධිපතිතුමා තමා පාසල් වියේදී බාලදක්ෂයෙක් ලෙස කටයුතු කිරීමේදී ලද අත්දැකීම් සිහිපත් කළ අතර එහිදි ලද හික්මීම ජනාධිපති ධූරය වන් භාරදුර වගකීමක් දැරීමට තමාට මහගු පිටුවහලක් වූ බව ද කියා සිටියේය.

Sri Lankan Scouts Attending World Scout Jamboree

 

Sri Lankan scouts and leaders participating at the 23rd World Scout Jamboree which will be held in Yamaguchi, Japan met with President Maithripala Sirisena on Thursday July 23.

The scouts and leaders who arrived at the President’s official residence met with the President who is also the Patron of the Sri Lanka Scouts Movement. The President handed over the national flag to the scouts participating at the World Scout Jamboree.

Thirty thousand (30 ,000) scouts representing 162 countries are due to take part at the World Scout Jamboree this year. Around 120 scouts will be representing Sri Lanka at the Jamboree.  The Jamboree is scheduled to take place from July 29 to August 8.

President Sirisena speaking with the scouts explained how discipline learned as a scout during his school days has helped him to carry out the responsibilities as Sri Lanka's President.

The Chief Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scouts Movement Prof.Nimal de Silva and International Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scouts Movement Janaprith Fernando were present on the occasion.

The 23rd World Scout Jamboree opened in Kirara-hama, Yamaguchi, Japan on Wednesday. It marked the beginning of an adventure of a lifetime for some 33,000  Scouts aged 14 to 17 years from about 140 countries including Sri Lanka. The opening ceremony was graced by Yamaguchi Governor Tsugumasa Muraoka and declared open by the Camp Chief of  the 23rd World Scout Jamboree, Dr. Takayasu Okushima. The 23rd World  Scout Jamboree by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement is hosted by the Scout Association of Japan.
