The
Duchess of Cambridge has earned herself a nickname as ‘The Children’s
Princess’ due to her down to earth nature when interacting with
youngsters whilst carrying out her royal duties.
And
Catherine’s latest visit was no different as she showed off her playful
side on Thursday during a visit to Scouts UK headquarters in Essex
where she got involved with activities such as den building and rocket
testing with young members.
The
mother-of-three was also given a guided tour by a group of four teenage
Explorer Scouts including 17-year-old Tahseen Patel, who told Hello! magazine that Catherine said she “wants her children to grow up in the Scouting movement”, adding that she’d love five-year-old Prince George to sign up.
Catherine
dressed down for the occasion, opting for a slim pair of black jeans
and a turtleneck jumper in a deep shade of red. The practical royal also
donned a pair of sturdy walking boots and a blue and red traditional
neckerchief for the occasion.
Fans of the duchess were quick to praise her manner on social media, with one writing: “Think it’s wonderful how she treats the young. She respects all citizens and deserves all our respect and admiration.”
Another said: “So cute!! She is the Children’s Princess.” While a third wrote: “The Children’s princess. I can totally understand why they love her!”

Catherine’s solo outing came just hours after Buckingham Palace announced that Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, would visit Christchurch, New Zealand, on behalf of the Queen.
The announcement of the duke’s visit comes just two weeks after the devastating terror attack in the city which saw 50 Muslim worshippers killed at two mosques as they took part in Friday Prayer.
“His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge will visit New Zealand on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen to honour the victims of the Christchurch mosques terrorist attack,” a palace statement read.
“The Duke will meet with those affected by the attack and will pay tribute to the extraordinary compassion and solidarity that the people of New Zealand have displayed in recent weeks.”
